Ferreira and Ondruska swing into Redmond for camps, clinics, tourney

Former top-30 Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) players Wayne Ferreira and Marcos Ondruska will swing into Redmond and run two weeks of exclusive camps and clinics at Redmond Tennis Club from Aug. 21-31.

With wins over tennis greats like Michael Chang and Brad Gilbert, former No. 27 in the world Ondruska will bring his experience to the club’s courts for two full weeks of the adult, junior and high-performance clinics, according to a club press release. Ferreira, who maintained a winning record over Roger Federer and a career-high ranking of No. 6 in the world, will be joining Ondruska for the second week.

Ferreira and Ondruska will also be competing in an exhibition tournament from Aug. 28-31. The invitational event will pit top players in the region against each other, competing to play the two ATP pros in the semifinals. The event finals will take place at 7 p.m. Aug. 31.

“This is a unique opportunity for adults and juniors to not only watch great tennis, but to interact with the players on a more personal level,” says Charl Faurie, CEO of Redmond Tennis Club. “Top ATP players rarely make appearances, play matches or provide coaching opportunities in the Seattle area.”

All clinics and classes will be open to the public on a first-come first-serve basis and will have limited availability. Both players will have limited availability for private lessons as well.
