Evan Williams and Roman Peterson cracked the back of the net in Overlake’s 2-0 boys soccer victory over University Prep last Saturday to secure a spot in the 1A state semifinals.

The defending state champions (14-2-2) will play Seattle Academy at 2 p.m. Friday at Sunset Chev Stadium in Sumner.

“We were tested more than usual, but as always, our defense and our goalkeepers had to come up with some saves to keep them off the board. All in all, it was a team game and we were able to move on to a big game this Friday,” said coach Scott Lane.

Overlake — which has won four state titles — has only given up six goals this season.
