Overlake hires Magraw as new head volleyball coach

The Overlake School has hired Justice Magraw as the Owls’ new head volleyball coach for the 2017 season.

Overlake’s athletic director John Wiley said, “Justice has displayed outstanding ability and solid character throughout her impressive career as a volleyball player. Though she’s just embarking on her high school coaching career, few people have better experience to teach volleyball and build student-athletes.”

Magraw played volleyball at the University of Washington, both indoor and beach. During her UW years (2012-16), the Huskies were one of the finest programs in the nation, winning two Pac 12 championships, making two elite-eight appearances and one final-four appearance.

Personally, Magraw was awarded the UW’s Provost Award for the highest grade-point average in the volleyball program, the Husky Pride Award and the 2016 Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award for the Pac 12 in Beach Volleyball.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to oversee the growth of Overlake’s volleyball program. I believe wholeheartedly in Overlake’s vision of a well-rounded student-athlete and I can’t wait to contribute to it,” she said.

Magraw also has strong Redmond connections as a former Redmond High Mustang, where she was a two-time captain and team MVP, as well as an all-Kingco selection. Her previous coaching experience includes two years at the Sudden Impact Volleyball Club.
