Overlake Medical Clinics offer drop-in sports physicals

With Eastside high schools requiring sports physical forms to be submitted before athletes can join fall team practices, Overlake Medical Clinics offers a drop-in, affordable option at multiple locations for families with tight schedules.

The $40 fee includes a comprehensive review of the athlete’s medical history including any past head or other bodily injuries the child may have suffered.

“We are trying to protect kids and we know that repeat injuries can cause bad, sometimes serious damage to young brains”, says Kathrina Westby-Sharman, director of Overlake Clinic Operations. “Our providers make sure there hasn’t been a history that we need to pay attention to in proceeding with a more cautious recommendation.”

Sports physicals are available on a walk-in basis at Overlake urgent care clinics in Redmond, downtown Bellevue, the Lake Hills neighborhood of Bellevue and Issaquah. For Expedia employees at the Expedia corporate clinic, for the first time this year, the clinic offers student athlete sports physicals free of charge.

Depending on the clinic, drop-in appointments are available six or seven days a week.

“This time of year is always very difficult for parents, it’s often a press to have the time to get in and get everything done before school starts”, says Westby-Sharman.
