Plenty of basketball on tap in the new year

As the local basketball squads jump into the new year, Redmond’s boys are 2-3 in the 4A KingCo Crown Division and 5-7 overall. On the girls’ side in the Crown, Redmond is 1-4 and 5-6 overall.

In girls’ action on Wednesday, Shorecrest will host Redmond at 5:30 p.m.

On Friday Redmond will host Eastlake at 6:30 p.m.

In boys’ action on Friday, Redmond will host Eastlake at 8 p.m.

For Bear Creek, the boys are tied atop the 1A Emerald City League standings with Seattle Academy with identical 3-0 records. The Grizzlies — 7-2 overall — will host Seattle Academy at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Bear Creek’s girls are 0-3 in league and 0-7 overall and will host Seattle Academy at 5 p.m. Saturday.

At Overlake, the girls lead the ECL with a 5-0 mark and are 8-3 overall. The boys are 2-1 in league and 5-5 overall.
