Redmond teams defeat Eastlake, Newport on the diamond

Mustangs complete softball, baseball sweep.

Redmond High’s softballers remained undefeated (12-0 overall and 10-0 league at press time) with a 6-2 victory over Eastlake and a 4-1 win over Newport this week.

Against Eastlake, Jennifer Cummings had two hits and two RBIs, Lauren Lund had an RBI double and Kaia Bradford doubled.

In the Newport game, Kiki Milloy homered and had four RBIs to go along with her complete-game pitching victory with 14 strikeouts. Haley Hanson had two hits.

Redmond High’s Duncan Warriner racked up results with his arm and bat during the Mustangs’ 3-2 baseball win over Eastlake on April 8.

The pitcher earned the complete-game win and knocked three hits. Also chipping in on the hit front were Spencer Uyematsu and Colin Curry with RBI singles and Derek Khabani with a double.

In a 6-0 win over Newport on April 9, Redmond hurler Landon Thompson pitched a complete-game two-hitter with six strikeouts. Yui Suzuki and Khabani had two hits each and Curry had a double and two RBIs.
