Redmond’s Golembeski, Anand shining at state golf tournament

After one day of golf at the boys 3A state tournament on Tuesday, Redmond’s Connor Golembeski is tied for first with Quinton Borseth of Stanwood with 68s at Columbia Point in Richland.

On the girls’ 3A side after Tuesday’s opener, Redmond’s Adithi Anand is in second place with a 69 at Canyon Lakes in Kennewick.

Also advancing to the second day from Redmond are Sean Kato (tied for eighth, 71), Michael Cummings (tied for 18th, 74), Rachel Jonson (21st, 87) and Lauren Settle (34th, 93).

In 1A boys action after the first day, Bear Creek’s John Hayes is tied for fifth with a 72 at Sun Willows in Pasco.

Other locals advancing to the second day are Overlake’s Rohit Sirosh (tied for 16th, 78), Bear Creek’s Oliver Nordberg (25th, 82) and Overlake’s Trent Gardner (tied for 33rd, 84).
