Redmond High holding free youth heart screening Wednesday
Published 3:11 pm Monday, October 3, 2011
The Nick of Time Foundation (NOTF) is holding a free Youth Heart Screening this Wednesday at Redmond High School on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., open to all youth ages 10-25.
With less than 100 students scheduled and the capability of screening over 500, NOTF is desperately seeking kids and teens to screen.
“Sudden cardiac arrest doesn’t discriminate – kids are dying with no warning signs,” said Darla Varrenti, executive director of NOTF. “Even the most committed, attentive parent/coach will most likely never see a single symptom before their child or player collapses – my family knows this personally.”
For more information, visit http://nickoftimefoundation.org/programs/screenings. For appointments, e-mail appt@nickoftimefoundation.org and include the child’s name, age and parent contact information.
The following links have been provided by NOTF as recent example of deaths caused by sudden cardiac arrest in the month of September.
