Beginning March 8

Next month, Evergreen Family Theatre (EFT) in Redmond will present the rock opera “Godspell.”

The show teaches lessons of love and acceptance through a series of well-known parables. The cast uses their wackiness and vocal talent to present a high-energy slice of the teachings of Jesus.

The majority of the script comes from the Gospel of Matthew and features Jesus, Judas, John the Baptist and a ragtag band of misfits.

“Godspell” was conceived by John-Michael Tebelak and the music is by “Wicked” composer Stephen Schwartz. The EFT production will feature music direction by Kristen Shomber and stage direction by Marsha Stueckle.

The show will be playing March 8-24 on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. with 3 p.m. shows on March 17 and 24. Tickets are $18 general admission and $16 for seniors and students. Opening night is “Buy One, Get One free.”

There will also be a special school matinee March 14 at 10 a.m. Tickets for this show are $12.
