To celebrate its 40th anniversary

In celebration of EvergreenHealth’s 40th anniversary, the organization is seeking photographs of babies, kids and adults who were born at EvergreenHealth throughout the hospital’s 40-year history.

Since 1972, EvergreenHealth (formerly Evergreen Healthcare) has served thousands of Eastside residents with family centered care and remains dedicated to supporting new families long after they return home from the hospital. To reconnect with the families and individuals who began their journey at the hospital, EvergreenHealth plans to dedicate a photographic mural in celebration of the hospital’s growth alongside the Eastside community.

Over the next few months, EvergreenHealth will collect photographs of EvergreenHealth babies of all ages to display at the main hospital campus in Kirkland.

EvergreenHealth will unveil the commemorative mural on Aug. 11 at its 17th Annual EvergreenHealth Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Reunion Picnic, an annual celebration of graduates of EvergreenHealth’s NICU that brings families together that have shared the experience of a premature birth.

“What better way to emphasize our history of caring for our community than to highlight the people who began their lives at EvergreenHealth?” said EvergreenHealth Chief Executive Officer Bob Malte. “We are so proud to share our long maternity history at EvergreenHealth alongside the exciting breakthrough care we provide today.”

EvergreenHealth’s maternity services have grown in step with population growth on the Eastside. EvergreenHealth’s Family Maternity Center delivered 367 babies in 1972 and 4,581 babies in 2012.

Today, EvergreenHealth provides one of the only Level III neonatal intensive care units, which enables the hospital to provide the highest level of care available for newborns. The health care provider’s Family Maternity Center was recognized as one of the best in the nation by HealthGrades’ Maternity Excellence Award for the past two years.

EvergreenHealth encourages the community to submit photos of EvergreenHealth babies of all ages by visiting www.evergreenhospital.org/evergreenbabies. Both digital and hardcopy photos are accepted, but photos will not be returned, so please do not send originals.

The deadline for photos to be included in the photographic mural is June 1.
