A 90-year-old Redmond woman who crashed her car near a Redmond home last week and suffered serious injuries died last Friday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to Redmond Police Department spokesman Jim Bove.
Elizabeth Stead, who suffered serious injuries to her ankle, wrist and ribs, was driving a 1994 Honda Accord southbound on 160th Avenue Northeast the afternoon of May 7 when she failed to make a right turn on Northeast 55th Way. After failing to make the turn, the car ran into a rocky embankment and flipped before landing upright just inches from a home.
Police said that speed appeared to be a factor in the crash.
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office is expected to release a cause of death Monday afternoon.
