The City of Redmond’s Northeast 90th Street Bridge will be closed up to seven hours a day beginning May 21 through May 31 to replace the structure’s bearing pads.
The closures are expected to be each day between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. in both directions, including weekends. The city is contracting with King County’s Bridge Maintenance Division to replace 22 bearing pads that cushion and connect the bridge deck to its support abutments.
This work requires lifting the bridge deck approximately one inch to remove and replace the pads. Drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians will be required to use alternate routes, which will be posted and include Redmond Way, Northeast 85th Street and Northeast 124th Street.
Variable Message Boards (VMS) will also be posted in the corridor.
The project is part of the normal maintenance cycle and has a budget of approximately $100,000.
