Three-day theater festival kicks off Friday at Anderson Park

This weekend, Anderson Park at 7802 168th Ave. N.E. in downtown Redmond will host ACTS OUT, a free, three-day outdoor theater festival for all ages.
ACTS OUT will feature a variety of classic, comedy, contemporary and family shows staged by top Northwest theater companies including Lucia Neare’s Theatrical Wonders, Seattle Shakespeare Company, Jet City Improv, GreenStage, Balagan Theatre, Last Leaf Productions, Theatre Schmeater and Redmond’s SecondStory Repertory.
The festival will run Friday through Sunday from 2 p.m. to sunset, about 8:30 p.m., each day.
The event will begin with a theater workshop and open audition with Lucia Neare at 2 p.m. on Friday for thespians 16 and older. This is the first time Neare has offered such an opportunity.
The festival will also offer special deals to attendants for local restaurants: Nara Japanese Restaurant, Nasai Teriyaki and Paradiso Olive Oils & Vinegars.
ACTS OUT will be the last time to see Suzanne Tidwell’s Artificial Light Installation, which is up until the end of the festival in Anderson Park.
