Redmond High School graduates and brothers Sean and Nico Shewey led Mount Olive College men’s lacrosse team to a 7-7 record season, which ended earlier this month.
The season came to an end with a loss to Belmont Abbey, which eliminated the Trojans from postseason play. In its first year of existence, the Mount Olive Trojans finished in fifth place in the Conference Carolinas standings.
Sean, a junior defender, appeared in 11 games for the Trojans, recording 24 ground balls and forcing 12 turnovers and was among the team leaders in both categories. Twice, he recorded five grounders and three forced turnovers in a game, a 19-11 win at Florida Tech and a 15-10 loss to nationally sixth-ranked Pfeiffer.
Nico, a freshman, appeared in two contests recording one ground ball.
