CORE Theatrics to present ‘The Little Mermaid Jr.’ next month

CORE Theatrics of Redmond will present Disney’s “The Little Mermaid Jr.” from July 18-21.
Thursday through Saturday shows will be at 7 p.m. and the Sunday performance will be at 2 p.m. All performances will be at the Lake Washington High School Performing Arts Center at 12033 N.E. 80th St. in Kirkland.
Tickets may be purchased online at www.coretheatrics.com and are $14 for students and seniors and $16 for adults. Group rates available for groups of 10 or more at $11 per ticket, email coretheatrics2008@gmail.com for group tickets.
The production features 34 local students. This classic Disney title contains all of the songs from the Academy Award-winning animated feature film as well as three new songs from the Broadway show. “The Little Mermaid Jr.” takes place in a magical kingdom beneath the sea, where a young mermaid named Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father, the king of the sea, escape the clutches of an evil sea witch and convince a prince that she’s the girl with the perfect voice.
The show is directed by Leslie Connor, musically directed by Blake Saunders and choreographed by UJ. “The Little Mermaid Jr.” rated PG and is recommended for ages 4 and older.
