Northwest champions Eastlake Little League defeated the Southeast team from Nashville, Tenn., 6-5, on Tuesday night in the World Series in Williamsport, Pa.
In an elimination game, Eastlake — which features Bryce DeLay, an incoming Overlake School student — scored six runs in the third inning to stake a 6-2 lead.
They finished off the Southeast squad by recording the final out with the tying run on first base.
Eastlake will next play the loser of today’s New England (Westport, Conn.) versus West (Chula Vista, Calif.) game at 5 p.m. PST on Thursday.
In other action, DeLay scored a run in Eastlake’s 6-5 win over the Midwest team (Urbandale, Iowa) on Monday night.
Urbandale scored three runs in the final inning, but Eastlake held on to notch the victory.
DeLay doubled in his team’s 9-7 loss to New England on Sunday.
Eastlake began the World Series with an 8-4 win over the Southwest team (Corpus Christi, Texas) last Thursday.
