Redmond Academy of Theatre Arts to perform ‘Once Upon a Mattress’

The Redmond Academy of Theatre Arts will perform “Once Upon a Mattress” at 7 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 2 p.m. Saturday at Lake Washington High School’s Performing Arts Center, 12033 N.E. 80th St., Kirkland. Tickets are $12 general admission at the door. Rated PG-13 for adult subject matter.

The famed story of the princess and the pea comes to life on stage in the musical. No one in the kingdom is permitted to marry until Prince Dauntless does — but when a suitable candidate finally arrives, his overprotective mother concocts a secret test that the young princess must pass before she’ll allow them to wed.
