With its season on the line, Redmond High’s baseball team came through with a 13-3 victory over Skyline High on Tuesday night in the 4A Kingco playoffs at Woodinville High.
In a loser-out, five-inning game, the Mustangs scored one run in the first inning, three in the third inning and nine in the fourth inning. Highlights included Kyle Francis’ two-run home run, Brandon Burditt’s four runs scored and Lucas Eliason’s RBI single.
Brendan Ecklebarger earned the win and had six strikeouts.
“I’m just really proud of the way the guys responded to a very difficult loss the night before. The team is high in character and fight,” said coach Dan Pudwill, referring to the Mustangs’ 7-4 loss to Woodinville.
Redmond (15-6 overall) will play Issaquah for the second time in the playoffs at 4 p.m. tomorrow at Woodinville High. The winner will advance to a bi-district game on Monday and the loser is done for the season. The bi-district-game victor will earn a state berth.
Redmond defeated Issaquah, 6-1, in the playoffs last Saturday.
