The Redmond Historical Society will present its 2014 History Hero Award to Miguel Llanos at 1 p.m. on Saturday at its annual picnic at Anderson Park.
Llanos is one of the founders of the 15-year-old society along with Naomi Hardy and Margaret Wiess.
Some of his tasks include writing the society’s initial grants to 4Culture, serving as vice president, taping all of the general meetings and the Saturday Speakers Series, editing the monthly newsletter, working at the Saturday Market booth and now serving on the library board, Landmarks Commission and the board of the AKCHO (Association of King County Historical Societies).
