Update: Frontier teams working to restore copper services on last two areas

Today’s update: As of 9:30 p.m. last night, Frontier Communications reported that it had restored 60 percent of copper voice and broadband services on Northeast 80th Street and Northeast 87th Street with full restoration expected by this afternoon.

At that time, Frontier also reported 30 percent restoration of services on Redmond Way and in the Cleveland Street corridor with full restoration expected by late this evening.

 

Tuesday’s update: Frontier Communications has achieved 100 percent restoration of copper voice and broadband services on Northeast 83rd Street and 161st Avenue Northeast and 168th Avenue Northeast.

In the next 10 hours, Frontier plans to restore services on Northeast 80th Street and Northeast 87th Street and on Redmond Way and in the Cleveland Street corridor.

This will amount to full restoration in all areas.

In its latest update this afternoon, Frontier Communications noted that it had restored copper voice and broadband services to 75 percent of the areas of Northeast 83rd Street and 161st Avenue Northeast, including areas surrounding Opportunity Building, Flag Pole Park, and south of Anderson Park, with further updates anticipated in the next eight hours.

“This area will be the third neighborhood of significant size to be completely restored, and we expect that by end of day today,” said Vicky Oxley, Frontier vice president and general manager for Washington state. “We are working with the local business community to gain on-site access that may be necessary to test and validate network restoration. This continues to be a community effort, requiring the dedication, cooperation and assistance of everyone involved.”

Also on the update page this morning, Frontier noted that it restored 50 percent of services on 168th Avenue Northeast and was working to have service restored on Northeast 80th Street and Northeast 87th Street and Redmond Way and the Cleveland corridor. Frontier’s estimated full restoration is late Tuesday night, according to the page.

On Sunday, Frontier completed restoration of services to areas west of Avondale Road in Redmond. This includes areas surrounding the Redmond Library, Edge Skate Park, Redmond Elementary School and northeast of Anderson Park.

On Friday night, Frontier completed restoration of services in the Education Hill Area in Redmond, including the Nike Neighborhood Park, Hartman Park, Redmond High School, and Horace Mann Elementary School.

To help customers impacted by this outage, public access Wi-Fi is set up from 161st Avenue Northeast to 166th Avenue Northeast from Redmond Way to Cleveland Street. Customers can connect to the Wi-Fi network by searching and selecting Frontier’s network from their Wi-Fi-enabled device. There is no password or authentication required.
