Boys, girls basketball teams close out regular seasons

Redmond High’s Kevin Carpenter poured in 22 points in the Mustangs’ 68-54 basketball victory over rival Eastlake High on Feb. 6.

Eastlake’s Jordan Lester led all scorers with 36 points.

On Tuesday, Skyline defeated Redmond, 60-50. Carpenter had 14 points.

On the girls’ side, Eastlake topped Redmond, 58-41, behind Ellie Woerner’s team-leading 22 points on Feb. 6. Sawyer Forseth led Redmond with 12 points.

Skyline defeated Redmond, 75-37, on Wednesday. Morgan Grindell led Redmond with eight points.

• Overlake’s boys and girls basketball teams notched a pair of victories over Bear Creek on Feb. 6.

For the girls, Overlake’s Oli Wilson had 16 points in her team’s 44-38 victory. Bear Creek’s Michelle Kahue had 12 points.

On the boys’ side, Overlake’s LT Cosmos had 18 points in the Owls’ 58-40 win. Matt Kelleran had 13 points for Bear Creek.

On Monday, Overlake’s boys defeated University Prep, 55-43, behind Cosmos’ team-leading 21 points.

Cosmos led Overlake with 18 points in the Owls’ 66-22 victory over Bush on Wednesday.

Also in boys’ action on Monday, Bear Creek edged Northwest, 54-53, behind Jordan Block’s team-leading 15 points.

In girls’ action on Monday, University Prep defeated Overlake, 49-32, and Northwest beat Bear Creek, 42-24. Victoria Friend led Overlake with 10 points and Darrlyn McDonough led Bear Creek with 12.

On Wednesday, Allie Hill scored 16 points to lead Overlake over Bush, 58-19.
