Redmond boys defeat Bothell in OT at 4A KingCo tourney | Prep basketball

Redmond defeated Bothell, 61-58, in overtime last night in the second round of the 4A KingCo boys basketball tournament at Redmond High.
Redmond led, 28-24, at halftime and the game was tied, 46-46, at the end of regulation time.The Mustangs outscored the Cougars, 15-12, in overtime to win the loser’s-bracket contest. Kevin Carpenter led Redmond with 19 points and Justin Harshman added 16.
Redmond will take on either Newport or Woodinville at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
In last night’s other boys loser’s-bracket game, Inglemoor defeated Eastlake, 56-52. Inglemoor will play either Skyline or Issaquah at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
Today’s winner’s-bracket games will feature Newport vs. Woodinville at 3:45 p.m. and Skyline vs. Issaquah at 7:15 p.m.
On the girls’ side last night, Issaquah defeated Redmond, 55-46, in a loser-out game. Sawyer Forseth led the Mustangs with 13 points.
Also, Skyline defeated Mount Si, 57-44, in the loser’s bracket.
Today’s winner’s-bracket games will feature Eastlake vs. Bothell at 2 p.m. and Woodinville vs. Inglemoor at 5:30 p.m.
The Eastlake-Bothell loser will face Issaquah at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, and the Woodinville-Inglemoor loser will face Skyline at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
The winners of today’s boys and girls games will play in the championship games on Thursday for the No. 1 seeds to state.
All games are at Redmond High.
