City of Redmond Mayor John Marchione has been selected as one of the first recipients of the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) Advocacy All-Star Award.
The new award recognizes and celebrates action in the past year by Washington elected city officials who have demonstrated a commitment to advocating for the interests of cities throughout the state.
“I’m pleased to receive the AWC Advocacy All-Star Award for leadership in advocating to advance the interests of all Washington cities,” said Marchione. “To receive recognition by an organization of one’s peers for leadership is a true honor.”
Marchione accepted his award at a luncheon in Wenatchee on Wednesday and shared his approaches to advocacy during an interactive discussion about the AWC’s Operation: Strong Cities campaign.
