It’s nearly time to start voting.
It’s been six months since Redmond Mayor John Marchione decided to run for his third term and Steve Fields stepped up as his challenger. Residents have seen the advertisements in the Reporter and the election signs around town and read a lot of what their supporters have written via letters to the editor.
Election day is Nov. 3, but voting will begin much earlier with King County Elections mailing ballots this Tuesday.
To coincide with ballot mailings, we’ve featured profiles of both mayoral candidates, along with Q and A’s with the four Redmond City Council candidates — Angela Birney, David Carson, Hank Margeson and Hank Myers — who are all running unopposed.
Read closely to what the candidates have to say and use this as a guide for when you sit down to check your ballot boxes.
You’ll also get a chance to hear directly from Marchione and Fields at next week’s debate, scheduled for 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Emerald Heights Retirement Community, 10901 176th Circle N.E.
Questions about city issues will be taken at the door and relayed to the candidates. If you choose to participate, submit questions pertinent to the election and word them so each candidate can answer them.
The weeks to election day are counting down, so this is an essential event to attend to gain further insight into what both candidates have to offer Redmond.
