Flatten roundabout landscaping | Letter

Published 10:00 am Friday, April 29, 2016

Quite obviously a large number of drivers use the roundabout at Northeast Union Hill Road and 196th Avenue Northeast. The current landscaping on the roundabout is quite attractive on its own. Unfortunately it also presents a visual obstruction to traffic and is a safety hazard.

Regrettably, the current landscaping must therefore be removed. The height of the berm should be reduced down to curb level. Any new plantings should be very low-growing, such as bearberry, vinca minor, pachysandra, mixed grasses or similar.

A large amount of citizen input is most likely to provide the incentives for the necessary changes to be made. Don’t just “let the other guy do it!” Please contact King County Department of Transportation, road services at (206) 296-8100 or 1-800-527-6237, or e-mail maint.roads@kingcounty.gov.

Thank yourself!
