Redmond swims to third among 3A KingCo schools at championship meet

Redmond High’s girls swimmers placed third among 3A KingCo schools at the league championships last weekend at Kamiak High.

The Mustangs garnered 390 points (behind Mercer Island with 522 points and Bellevue with 447 in 3A) and were sixth overall. 4A Skyline won the meet with a team score of 529.5.

The district meet is this weekend at a site to be determined.

On the honors front, Redmond won the 3A KingCo team sportsmanship award.

Redmond KingCo scholar athletes are Katie Gordon, Emily Grabow, Nadia Medvinsky and Sophie Yu. The KingCo Scholastic Award standard is a minimum 3.75 cumulative grade-point average and participation in a KingCo sport.

Mustang all-KingCo selection are Claire Wu (second team) and Emily Whelan (honorable mention).
