In Loving Memory

October 8, 1932 – April 28, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Lotte Erna Elias.

Born on October 8, 1932, in Edenwold, Saskatchewan, Lotte will be lovingly remembered by her children, Tim, Heather and Elske, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, a great-grandchild, and dear friends who loved her. She was predeceased by her son, Joachim ‘Jock.’

Lotte grew up on a farm in Saskatchewan before finding her way to nursing. She trained at Regina General Hospital and later worked as an emergency room nurse at Langley Memorial Hospital. When she wasn’t playing bridge, a game in which she earned a Masters Award, Lotte loved spending time in her garden, volunteering with the Farm Machinery Museum and Langley Heritage Society, and sharing the recipes that became part of her family’s traditions, including plum dumplings, Schokoladenkuchen, strudel and her salad dressing, which remains the best to this day.

Above all, Lotte loved her family deeply. She took great pride in her life, and what mattered most was being together. She was fiercely independent, passionate, and never held back from telling you if something didn’t turn her crank.

Lotte died peacefully, surrounded by family, on April 28, 2026, in Langley, B.C.
