Permanent striping work closes two SR 520 ramps Friday night

Just in time for the dark and rainy months ahead, new reflective striping will help light the way for drivers on two State Route 520 ramps.

On Friday, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will close the two ramps to install permanent striping on them after they were paved as part of the SR 520 108th Avenue Northeast to West Lake Sammamish Parkway project.

Closure details

Friday to Saturday morning:

• The westbound SR 520 exit to Northeast 51st Street closes at 9 p.m.

• The West Lake Sammamish Parkway on-ramp to westbound SR 520 closes at 10 p.m.

• Both ramps reopen by 6 a.m. Saturday

Placing the striping on these ramps will complete the work on the SR 520 paving project. This past summer, crews placed new asphalt on nearly three miles of SR 520, including four bridges and 10 ramps. Prior to the paving, the stretch between 108th Avenue Northeast and West Lake Sammamish Parkway was rutted and cracked. The paving extends the life of the highway and reduces maintenance costs.
