Shoplifting: Redmond police took a shoplifting report at 1:34 p.m. in the 2200 block of 148th Avenue Northeast. A man stole a Kitchen Aid Mixer. The officer did not locate the man, but the store provided his identity.

Theft: Redmond police took a report of a theft of a motor vehicle at 12:24 p.m. in the 15000 block of Northeast 24th Street. A man reported his blue 2004 Toyota Camry was stolen from the Safeway parking lot.

Monday, Aug. 8

Fraud: Redmond police took a fraud report at 10:39 a.m. in the 6900 block of 153rd Avenue Northeast. A resident visited the police department lobby to report that money had been moved out of her account without her knowledge.

Shoplifting: Redmond police took a shoplifting report at 7:43 a.m. in the 17900 block of Redmond Way. A grocery reported that a man in a wheelchair stole $400 of meat and seafood the night before.

Disturbance: Redmond police responded to a disturbance report at 5:25 p.m. at Farrel-McWhirter Park in the 19500 block of Redmond Road. A man loudly informed everyone at the park that he owned the park and the land, as he was the King of Morocco. Officers offered assistance to the man.

Sunday, Aug. 7

Theft: Redmond police took a theft report at 5:54 p.m. in the 9800 block of Avondale Road.

Officers arrested a juvenile for theft of services when she refused to pay a $90 cab bill then fled.

Trespassing: Redmond police took a trespassing report at 5:20 p.m. in the 3100 block of 181st Avenue Northeast. A caller reported that a previous tenant of a home was attempting to enter the home through the back yard.

Saturday, Aug. 6

Shoplifting: Redmond police took a shoplifting report at 8:33 p.m. in the 16700 block of Redmond Way. A female suspect stole merchandise and fled in a vehicle. Store staff obtained the plate number and it was a car reported stolen out of Kent. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.

Theft: Redmond police took a report of a theft from motor vehicle at 5:10 p.m. in the 19500 block of Redmond Road. Officers responded to a car prowl at Farrel-McWhirter Park and coordinated with several agencies to follow up on a lead. Investigation is on-going.

Friday, Aug. 5

Theft: Redmond police took a report of a theft from a building at 11:17 a.m. in the 5000 block of 154th Place Northeast. Someone at Microsoft reported the theft of a Surface Book.

Theft: Redmond police took a report of a theft of a motor vehicle at 8:24 a.m. in the 4200 block of West Lake Sammamish Parkway. Someone broke into one vehicle at a residence. A spare key to a second vehicle was taken from the console and that vehicle, a red 2008 Acura, was stolen.

Thursday, Aug. 4

Theft: Redmond police took a theft report at 2:29 p.m. in the 6900 block of 176th Avenue Northeast. An employer reported a previous employee may have taken confidential information from the company.

Shoplifting: Redmond police took a shoplifting report at 1:56 p.m. in the 16700 block of Redmond Way. A man stole several items of clothing. Staff were reluctant to approach him as he appeared to be talking to himself, dancing and stumbling at times.

Wednesday, Aug. 3

Suspicious behavior: A Redmond police officer on routine patrol was approached by a store employee at 9 a.m. in the 17100 block of Redmond Way reporting a man behaving suspiciously, attempting to pay with several cards that were declined. He was driving a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant parked in reverse in a disabled parking spot with the trunk lid open. Officers immediately recognized the Galant as the same one stolen from a local dealer on Aug. 1 and recovered in Bellevue on Aug. 2. It appears the suspect, still having the key from his “test drive,” took a bus to the dealer on Aug. 3 and took the Galant off the lot again to go shopping at the store. The man was arrested and investigation is ongoing.

Burglary: Redmond police took a residential-burglary report at 8:10 a.m. in the 12000 block of 176th Avenue Northeast. A resident reported that sometime during the night, someone entered their garage and entered two vehicles inside to steal a laptop and passport. The automatic garage door was inadvertently left up.
