First Tech Movies@Marymoor summer lineup offers great big-screen flicks, fun activities

Have a picnic, chat with friends, play some trivia and enjoy King County’s Marymoor Park this summer at the First Tech Movies@Marymoor, presented by Overlake Medical Clinics.
Now in its 12th season of Wednesday events, the series kicks off July 6 with fan favorite “Back to the Future,” and special appearance by the Zambini Brothers giant puppets. On July 13 the series continues with the 2015 blockbuster “Jurassic World” on the big screen.
The weekly showings continue in July with the 2015 animated hit “Inside Out” on July 20 followed by “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” on July 27.
In August, the 1992 animated favorite “Aladdin” shows on Aug. 3, followed by the classic family musical “Singin’ in the Rain” on Aug. 10, Disney’s family hit “Zootopia” on Aug. 17, and a timeless tale of true love and pirate adventures in “The Princess Bride” on Aug. 24 to finish the season.
All Movies@Marymoor events feature a movie trivia contest and a variety of performers including stilt walkers, acrobats, jugglers or giant puppets. Every event also offers a selection of food trucks, including Wicked Pies pizza, Charlie’s Buns n’ Stuff, Buddah Bruddha, Roll OK Please, Express Mexican Kitchen, Caramia’s Sweetie Treaties, kettle corn and more.
Movies are shown on a 40-foot inflatable movie screen. All events are “bring your own seating,” dog friendly and smoke free. Event entry is $5 per person for all activities, and kids age 5 and under are free. Seating opens at 6:30 p.m., and movies start at dusk. Parking is $5 per vehicle.
