King County Sheriff deputies arrested a 36-year-old woman at her home near Redmond on Saturday afternoon for investigation of the murder of her 16-month-old son.

She was booked into King County Jail after deputies responded to her home on an aid call at about 3:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of 264th Avenue Northeast in unincorporated King County.

“The male caller reported to King County Sheriff 911 communications that his 16-month-old son was not breathing and that others at the house were attempting CPR,” said Sgt. Jason Houck in a press release, which added that there was an AED request. “Deputies and medics arrived a short time later and attempted to revive the infant, but were unsuccessful.”

During their initial investigation, deputies uncovered evidence that the boy’s mother had possibly caused the fatal injuries. King County Sheriff Major Crimes Detectives are investigating the incident.

Houck said there was to be an autopsy on Monday and they may be able to release more information on Tuesday.

According to the King County Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect didn’t appear in court for Monday’s hearing. The court made a probable cause finding and there will be a bond hearing at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Courtroom 1 of the jail. The charging deadline is Wednesday.
