Stella Schola students and alumni volunteer to help Forgotten Children’s Fund

Sixteen students and alumni from Stella Schola Middle School recently donned their Santa hats to help out at the Forgotten Children’s Fund (FCF).

The teens volunteered their time at a donated warehouse/office in Seattle to wrap new toys and clothing for needy families in the greater Seattle area.

Tenth-grader Julia Sousa, who has been helping out for four years, said, “There are so many kids right in our area that might not get anything for the holidays. It makes me feel good to do something to make them feel happy.”

In 1976, a boy named Craig wrote a letter to Santa Claus asking for a gift — not for himself, but — for his sister who did not get anything for Christmas the previous year and he thought she had been forgotten. The letter ended up touching the hearts of many people, and the Forgotten Children’s Fund was born. This organization is a volunteer only, nonprofit organization, which provides a memorable holiday to more than 80,000 youngsters and their families.
