Truck driver accidentally rams hydrant in Redmond parking lot

It was raining and then it was pouring.

A driver exited the scene in their semi truck after ramming into a hydrant on Tuesday afternoon in a commercial parking lot at 15300 N.E. 95th St. in Redmond.

According to James Perry, Redmond Police Department (RPD) acting public information officer, “The driver is an employee of a business at the site and the evidence suggests the driver never knew the rear of this trailer struck the hydrant.”

There were no injuries, the water was capped and repairs were underway on the hydrant on Tuesday, according to Perry.

Perry added that the incident is solely a civil matter between the property owner and the driver and no criminal investigation is taking place.
