The City of Redmond is looking for citizen volunteers to fill a vacancy on its Civil Service Commission. Civil Service Commissioners are typically appointed to six-year terms.

The City of Redmond is looking for citizen volunteers to fill a vacancy on its Civil Service Commission. Civil Service Commissioners are typically appointed to six-year terms.

The Civil Service Commission is responsible for the hiring and promotional examinations for all regular status positions in the Police and Fire Departments.

Civil Service meetings are held at 5:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month. Occasionally, there may be a need for a special meeting, to be scheduled at the availability of the Civil Service Commissioners.

Interested residents, who have lived within Redmond city limits for a minimum of three years and are U.S. citizens, should contact the Mayor’s office at (425) 556-2101 or download a community service application form at www.redmond.gov/insidecityhall/boards.asp. Mail the completed application to the Office of the Mayor, City of Redmond, P.O. Box 97010, Redmond, WA 98073-9710 or fax to (425) 556-2110. If available, include a resume or summary of related experience. All board and commission members are volunteers.
