Redmond seniors Miller and Van Baak receive National Merit scholarships

Two Redmond students have received National Merit college-sponsored scholarships.
Nolan Miller, a Kirkland resident who attends Redmond High School, received a National Merit University of Southern California scholarship. His probable career field is listed as electrical engineering.
Nicholas Van Baak, a Woodinville resident who attends The Bear Creek School in Redmond, has received a National Merit Calvin College scholarship. His probable career field is listed as psychology.
Miller and Van Baak were among more than 2,500 high school seniors nationwide to receive college-sponsored scholarships through the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program. The awards are between $500 and $2,000 per year for up to four years.
