Connell defeated Overlake, 1-0, in the first round of the 1A boys state soccer tournament on Tuesday night at Interlake High School.

The Emerald City League champions finished their season with an 8-4-4 overall record.

Overlake’s Bob Bristol was named league coach of the year and the Owls sported first-teamers Kai McConnell and Matt Slee, and second-teamers Cole Kenworthy and Loucas Tsilas.
