Redmond players help lead Elite Diamonds to tournament title

The Elite Diamonds Girls Fastpitch 12U team defeated the Forks Spartans, 8-0, to win the USSSA State Tournament held at Dacca Park in Fife last weekend. The team went 5-0 with four shutouts and only allowed six runs; they outscored opponents, 61-6.

Elite Diamonds includes Redmond residents Camille Eaton, Jordan McCannon, Elliott Wood and Penny Walker.

The team notched three tournament title and two second-place results this season. Based out of Rijo Athletics in Woodinville, the team will be playing in the ASA Seatac Metros next weekend, followed by NSA state in the Tri Cities at the end of the month and the NSA Western World Series in July in Snohomish County.
