The Cascade Bicycle Club announced that it has endorsed John Marchione for Mayor of Redmond.
The Cascade Bicycle Club states on their web page that all endorsements are based on the candidate’s stated positions, public record, approachability, viability and experience. Their endorsements are strictly “bike-partisan” and do not consider a candidate’s political party.
“I am happy to earn the Cascade Bicycle Club’s endorsement,” said Marchione. “Over the last eight years, we have connected, enhanced and built bicycle lanes and trails that connect us to the region.”
Part of Marchione’s accomplishments include obtaining money from Microsoft and the state to build the underpasses at 51st and 40th on the SR 520 Bike Trail. This separates bikes from the cars for a safer, faster trip.
To date, Marchione has been endorsed by the Affordable Housing Council, Seattle-King County Realtors, Eastside Business Alliance, Washington for Transportation and the Seattle Times.
