Lake Washington School District teachers set to picket during Wednesday’s walkout

Lake Washington School District (LWSD) teachers will participate in Wednesday's one-day Lake Washington Education Association (LWEA) walkout. Classes will be canceled as teachers will picket at a handful of strategic high-visibility locations from 7:30-10 a.m. in a statewide action against the Legislature to protest the lack of state education funding for smaller K-12 class sizes and professional pay and benefits for educators.

In Redmond:

• Leary Way Northeast and West Lake Sammamish Parkway Northeast

• Avondale Road and 166th/168th avenues northeast and Northeast Redmond Way

• Union Hill Road and Avondale Road

• Novelty Hill Road and Avondale Road

• Avondale Road and 116th Avenue Northeast

• East Lake Sammamish Parkway Northeast and Redmond-Fall City Road

From 1:15-1:30 p.m., there will be a march from Heritage Park to Marina Pavilion and Park, 25 Lakeshore Plaza Way, Kirkland.

From 1:30-2:30 p.m., there will be an It’s Time rally at Marina Pavilion.
