The Goddard School, located at 4200 228th Ave. N.E. in Redmond, has received its Certificate of Occupancy and is now enrolling children in anticipation of opening in November.
The new 10,000-plus square foot building has been designed to accommodate approximately 130 children from six weeks to six years. The new school will offer flexible year-round schedules, including a summer program, for children Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Jeff and Shauna Barison, onsite owners, opened their first school in 2008 with Shauna’s parents, Teresa and Robert Nichols, at 10611 Redmond Ridge Dr. N.E. on Redmond Ridge.
The new school in Redmond is being prepped for its upcoming opening. The Jeff and Shauna are currently offering tours to interested families. The school’s educational director, Abby Yokers, is completing director’s training and the faculty members are preparing their classrooms. Each classroom is arranged in learning centers such as math, music, creative art, blocks and puzzles, science and computers. The new school also boasts two spacious playgrounds for children of all ages.
Goddard’s curriculum, the Goddard School FLEX Learning Program, is based on a learning continuum that encompasses developmental guidelines, formative assessments and child-focused lesson plans that are delivered in a creative and fun environment with a child-centered approach to meet each student’s individual needs.
The Goddard School program focuses on building a strong and balanced foundation of emotional, social, cognitive and physical skills for each child. Overseen by a team of Goddard Quality Assurance Representatives and licensed by the state, The Goddard School provides a safe and secure learning environment for children.
