The Redmond Marriott Town Center will be transformed into a red-carpet extravaganza Feb. 6 when the Greater Redmond Chamber of Commerce will hold its 64th Annual Gala and Auction.
This year’s big fundraiser, called “Lights, Camera, Auction,” will have a Hollywood theme, complete with a red carpet entrance and pictures with life-size, cardboard-cutout Hollywood stars, like Luke Skywalker and Jack Sparrow. The night will also include a formal dinner and a live auction, led by auctioneer extrodinaire/actor Dennis Bateman of Bellevue-based Northwest Benefit Auctions.

Redmond Police officers pay their respects to slain...

Redmond Police commander Shari Shovlin made a concerned phone call when she heard about four Lakewood Police officers being gunned down at a coffee shop the morning of Nov. 29.
Shovlin worked with Brian Markert, who was a Redmond patrol officer before he transferred to the Lakewood Police Department in 2004.
So she called Markert’s wife, asked the fearful question and hoped for the best.

Homecoming for Guyton at Husky Stadium Saturday

Trevor Guyton, a 2008 Redmond High School (RHS) graduate, will have his own personal cheering section at Husky Stadium tomorrow afternoon.
The former Mustang football standout who now plays at the University of California-Berkeley will be playing in front of several friends and family when the No. 19 Golden Bears take on the University of Washington at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow.
