Michelle Hillis, a licensed naturopathic primary care physician, has opened a new practice, Bear Creek Natural Medicine, at 16761 N.E. 79th St. in Redmond.

Hillis utilizes natural medicine in her work and is licensed to perform exams, make diagnoses, order lab tests and imaging, prescribe prescriptive medication, perform minor surgery, and treat a wide range of conditions. She has been a physician for 10 years and specializes in a wide range of women’s and pediatric health issues. Her other specialties include allergies, skin conditions, immune support, high cholesterol, diabetes, and stress-related issues.

“It is rewarding as a physician to help people take control of their health — ultimately allowing them to embrace life more fully for themselves and with their families,” Hillis said.

Hillis grew up in Kirkland and created the iHomeopathy application for Apple iPhone, a mobile quick reference for treating first-aid emergencies that was featured in Best iPhone Apps by Parents Magazine. She has done medical research at University of Washington Medical Center and Bastyr University. Hillis received her bachelor’s degree from Whitman College and completed her medical education and internships in the Portland area primary care clinics in 2001. She received her doctorate in naturopathic medicine is from the National College of Natural Medicine.
