Elevation Exhibits, an award-winning firm that specializes in exhibit design, marketing and event planning around trade shows, has recently opened up shop in a new Redmond office located on 166th Avenue Northeast.
The downtown office spurned out of a need for a greater local presence for West Coast clients, including Redmond-based Microsoft, Corp.
“There were some industries out here that we were interested in,” explained Adam Karns, Business Development Manager for Elevation. “Specifically, we’ve been doing work with Microsoft for the past six years and we thought a more local presence would help with that.”
In addition to large corporations, Elevation also works with a very diverse clientele, helping smaller start-ups get off the ground and into their respective industries through its innovative marketing techniques. The company also takes on point-of-purchase displays for locations such as museums, retail outlets and company interiors.
“We’re in the tech industries, government defense, network systems, television displays,” Karns said. “But we do have small start-ups as well. We’re throughout the spectrum.”
Karns went on to explain that as a marketing-based company, Elevation will assist its clients with a full marketing plan around a trade show, which grew out of their clients’ desire for a complete package of logistics, staging and support, often with a worldwide reach.
“We work with them on what their market plan and target audience is, and what they want to accomplish with the show,” he described. “It might be to (maximize) attendance generation, pre-show mailers, post-show followups … our designers will go with and design pick-ups to walk them through that, and create the image they’re trying to accomplish.”
Elevation recently won a first-place “Best of Show” award at this summer’s Total Solutions Marketing conference in Boston for its own exhibit booth, and the second-place winner, an audio-visual firm called AVFX, was also an Elevation design.
According to Karns, the most enjoyable parts of his job are the travel, and witnessing the successes that fledgling companies share after they have had the opportunity to work with Elevation.
“Working with startup companies and being part of their success as they grow in their industry, and seeing their success often has a lot to do with our marketing initiatives and the strategies we helped put in place with them,” he said. “Seeing a company succeed and sharing that joy with them is really nice.”
