Farrel–McWhirter to host Spooktacular event for Halloween

Attendees can dissect pumpkins and feed the remains to pigs or take a guided walk in the dark.

On October 29, Farrel-McWhirter Park will be hosting an outdoor Spooktacular event in time for Halloween.

Spooktacular will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m., and the barnyard will feature festive lighting where attendees can view costumes on farm animals. The event will also hold guided walks through the dark–for those who aren’t too fearful.

Pumpkins will also be dissected and fed to pigs, or attendees can uncover real skeletons hiding in owl pellets. Furthermore, attendees will have the opportunity to press fresh apple cider and eat snacks, and learn about native nocturnal wildlife that lives in the park.

Spooktacular will take place regardless of rain or shine, and closed toed shoes are required to participate. Spooktacular fees for Redmond residents are $40 and $48 for nonresidents.
