Group Health seeks Board of Trustees candidates

Group Health Cooperative, one of Washington’s largest employers, is currently seeking candidates for three Board of Trustees positions, with elections slated for October 2010. The application deadline is Wednesday, April 14, 2010.

The Board of Trustees is an 11-member consumer governing body that hires the CEO and sets the strategy and direction for a $2.8 billion non-profit health care system that serves more than 639,000 members. Individuals with the experience and range of skills necessary to help lead our consumer-governed health care system are encouraged to apply. Serving on the Board offers a dynamic opportunity to help transform health care for Group Health’s members and the communities it serves.

Trustees must receive their medical coverage through Group Health in order to be eligible to apply.

Trustees are elected to serve a three-year term and receive an $8,500 annual stipend. An additional small stipend is paid for attendance at Group Health Options, Inc. Board meetings.

Group Health is committed to reflecting the diversity of the members its serve, both in its staffing and in the governance of the Cooperative.
