Schwartz Brothers Restaurants announces Andre Decker as the new chef at Spazzo Italian Grill & Wine Bar in Redmond Town Center. Decker has worked for Schwartz Brothers Restaurants for more than 10 years, serving in a number of culinary positions in all three Daniel’s Broiler locations and Chandler’s Crabhouse.
As chef at Spazzo, Decker oversees staff production to ensure all menu items are prepared with quality and consistency. Together with executive chef Peter Coulter, Decker assisted in revamping Spazzo’s happy hour menu, which includes specialty dishes such as crispy chicken wings topped with rosemary and lemon garlic, as well as poutine fries laced with fontina cream and smoked gorgonzola.
Decker boasts more than 20 years of culinary experience. Prior to joining Schwartz Brothers in 2003, Decker began his career in a small restaurant in Steilacoom as a dishwasher and worked his way up to a prep cook position. He then became one of the youngest assistant kitchen managers at RAM Restaurant & Brewery and eventually moved up to manager.
“Andre has proven himself to be dedicated and hard working, and it’s demonstrated on how quickly he’s moved up the ranks in the restaurant industry,” said Lindsey Schwartz, CEO of Schwartz Brothers Restaurants. “He’s been an important part of the Schwartz Brothers family, and we trust his culinary instincts. His new position at Spazzo is well deserved.”
Other notable restaurants in Decker’s portfolio include The Outback Steakhouse, the Lobster Shop, Harmon Brew Pub and Stanley and Seafort’s.
