Orange Blossom Society to host family event: Donations to help fund KID YOGA scholarship

Orange Blossom Society, 16715 NE 79th St. in Redmond, will host family activities from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 17. The event is free but families are encouraged to offer a $10 donation to the KID YOGA scholarship which will allow kids of all cultures and backgrounds to discover and thrive with KID YOGA.

Orange Blossom Society, 16715 NE 79th St. in Redmond, will host family activities from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 17.

The event is free but families are encouraged to offer a $10 donation to the KID YOGA scholarship which will allow kids of all cultures and backgrounds to discover and thrive with KID YOGA.

Events are scheduled as follows:

• 10:30 a.m.-11 a.m.: Tours of Orange Blossom Society facility and grounds

• 11 a.m.-11:30 a.m.: Family Yoga class led by Dana Hein-Skaggs, KID YOGA founder

• 11:30 a.m.-noon: “Om Baby, Child of the Universe” story time and songs with local author Schamet Horsfield

• Noon-12:30 p.m.: Lunch including hot dogs (vegetarian also) and popcorn for sale, relaxation in the children’s garden and opportunities to learn more about KID YOGA and Orange Blossom Society

• 12:30 p.m.–1 p.m.: KID YOGA class with Dana Hein-Skaggs and excerpts from “The Way of the Toddler” with author Leta Hamilton

• 1-1:30 p.m.: Playing, dancing, shopping for crafts, and more

“Our hope for this afternoon is that families can experience yoga like they never have before while meeting new people and enjoying the welcoming and nurturing environment of the Orange Blossom Society,” said Hein-Skaggs.
