Two Redmond-based home remodeling companies each earned multiple awards at the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties annual Remodeling Excellence Awards (REX) banquet held June 21 at the Spirit of Washington Event Center in Renton.

Tenhulzen Remodeling, Inc., of Redmond was the recipient of the prestigious “People’s Choice Award,” selected by peers at the gala for their entry in the “Porch/Deck” (more than $40,000) category. The firm also won top honors for “Kitchen Excellence” (under $75,000).

Stone Pillar Remodeling, Inc. also won three top awards in the competition, including top honors for “Bath Excellence (more than $75,000), “Bath Excellence (less than $40,000)” and “Existing or Additional Square Footage ($300,000 to $600,000).”

A total of 48 entries were submitted for judging by a panel of experts, consisting of local and national remodelers, media and architects.

The nearly two dozen award categories ranged from remodels of bathrooms for less than $40,000 to kitchens and major remodels up to $600,000. They also recognized remodeler specialties such as interior design and landscaping.
