Danskin Triathalon is a great race with great volunteers

As a Redmond resident, I enjoyed reading the article on Paula Tomlinson and the Seattle Danskin Women’s Triathlon in the July 19 Redmond Reporter.

I entirely agree that the Danskin Women’s Triathlon is a fantastic event to honor breast cancer survivors and enable them to accomplish an enormous feat. I would like to note that this incredible event is only possible through the hundreds of volunteers that help put it on every year.

Seattle Danskin weekend requires nearly 500 volunteers working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to stage the event.

This year, the Seattle Danskin Women’s Triathlon Expo is at Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue on Saturday, August 16, and the triathlon is at Genesee Park in Seattle on Sunday, August 17.

We are always looking for more volunteers to support this great race. volunteer job descriptions and the registration form can be found on our volunteer Web site at www.seattledanskintri.info.

Just volunteering can provide the same sense of accomplishment and excitement that the athletes feel.
