The spirit of America needs to be revived and upheld | Letter

Never before has the spirit of the United States of America been pulled down so low. This President and his wealthy administrative cronies, and this congress seem intent to achieve personal agenda’s for the wealthy, rather than those beneficial to the entire nation. Their approval ratings are the lowest in history.

The spirit of truth, openness and honor. The spirit of decency. The spirit of fairness. The spirit of freedom. The spirit for a chance to dream. The spirit to have proper health care. The spirit of our compassion and charity that permeates through our country is under threat.

The spirit of a free United States that has helped and welcomed the down trodden and needy regardless of the origins, beliefs, gender, race, or status, is under threat. These are our most cherished beliefs that our defenders for 240 years have died for. We must make sure that these have not died in vain, and the spirit of America prevails.

Now this President’s spirit of patriotism is being questioned and under scrutiny. How has this come to be? Have foreign countries been allowed, or invited, to influence our political process? Why have so many of this President’s advisers been involved with a country that is being sanctioned for its brutal, murderous, and intolerable behavior of its leader?

The spirit of America needs to be revived and upheld. We the people have that responsibility when our elected leaders fail us by unacceptable reason. We must stand and petition those that do not benefit our nation.
